“Ortho-Kinetics”
Article of the Month:

Stretching the Facts: Part II

Historically, stretching has long been as much of a corner stone of any fitness, Golf or sports performance training program as strength training and cardiovascular conditioning. However, as presented in the last article in this series, resent research has shown little support for providing actual measurable performance benefits associated with stretching. Some of the research also presented insinuated that stretching may actually contribute to increased risk of muscle injury and potentially may promote joint instability and joint degeneration. However, it was also pointed out that most all of this research were directed towards traditional “passive stretching” and did not typically even research the possible benefits and risks associated with other forms of stretching.

Member Spotlight – Regina Leon

Staying fit and healthy has been my passion throughout most of my life.  Being blessed with good genes from my parents, an Irish mother and an Italian father, have served me well.  Thankfully, weight has not been a concern for me as I try to eat healthy most of the time, but a good hard workout always seems to justify the sins of an occasional margarita or two complimented by a generous portion of enchiladas. My journey into fitness began in the seventies….Click HERE to see how far I have come.
