Elizabeth Hardy, Dallas TXLiving Life To The Fullest…

I recently read that a TELOS member said she used to “hate gyms” — me too! I had no problem relating to her statement as I considered myself someone with the innate ability to come up with any excuse not to ever darken the door of a fitness facility to exercise.  That was then, and this is now…

I joined TELOS last September, at the urging of a friend who is a long-time member. A minor miracle occurred almost overnight as very quickly, I started to actually look forward to coming to TELOS.  I truly wondered what was happening to me– it seemed  like a good thing that I couldn’t wait to get to TELOS in the mornings; but nevertheless it was a feeling I had never experienced before!

Those who work at TELOS are the best of the best. The facilities are also very clean and safe.  It’s nice to walk in and be greeted by name. It’s really nice that the person who I purchased my membership from (Kari!) has been encouraging and helpful every step of the way. Every other gym I joined, I never saw the person who “signed me up” again. She has played a huge role in why I am so happy with my membership.

I love TELOS’ integrated team approach. Everett conducted my initial Ortho-Kinetics Assessment®. Everett is so incredibly knowledgeable that during this process I learned a lot and found myself actually eager to get started and was not in my “normal state” of dreading anything to do with exercise.  Everett designed my program and selected just the right trainers to work with me.  My training regimen consists of strength training with Paige, M.A.T. (Muscle Activation Therapy) with Glenn and Pilates with Kristin. And, to treat myself, I get therapeutic massages from Nicki! They are all very dedicated and EXCEPTIONAL at what they do.

I used to think that lifting weights and crunches were the keys to getting fit.  I have now learned that my balance, trunk rotation and alignment (all things I had never heard of and, worse, did not do correctly) are extremely important.  That being said, what is also meaningful to me is that they really care and have been very patient with me as I joke with them that I am probably the most uncoordinated person they have ever worked with (and I was not at all physically fit when I started).  If that’s not enough, I also have a rare chronic lung condition.  I am thrilled with my progress.  In just six months, my quality of life has improved dramatically.  For example, I just had a check-up, and I walked 100 yards (an entire football field!!!) further than I did at my last appointment (right before I joined TELOS) which is tremendous progress for someone with lung function issues.

I BREATHE better: I SLEEP better; My STRESS level is minimal; and my body doesn’t ache any more.  I NOW HAVE ENERGY TO DO ALL OF THE THINGS I LOVE TO DO AND FEEL THAT I AM NOW LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST THANKS TO TAKING MY FRIEND’S ADVICE AND JOINING TELOS!!  A big hug to all of the wonderful people at TELOS who have been with me every step of the way.
