The Pilates method was developed by Joseph H. Pilates (1880-1967). Mr. Pilates’ influences were drawn from the sports of boxing, diving, gymnastics, and the study of yoga. Pilates is a specialized form of resistance training utilizing a combination of unique equipment and exercises performed in specific sequence on the mat.
There are over 500 exercise options to deliver a varied and invigorating workout. This method is designed to challenge an individual to develop core and trunk strength as well as overall muscle tone. Benefits include improved posture, coordination, strength, stability, and stamina. Pilates instructors work as an integral part of the TEAM TELOS to ensure that each individual achieves optimum results.
We offer Pilates Mat group classes. Mat classes focus on utilizing one’s body weight against gravity in a series of movements performed on the mat. These exercises are designed to challenge core strength and stability.
Private & Semi-Private Training
TELOS specializes in private and semi-private training which incorporates the use of all the Pilates apparatus as well as mat work. Our certified instructors are dedicated to providing customized training programs designed to meet each individual’s needs.
