Busy Mom....I have always enjoyed power walking and jogging, but as a busy mom, I didn't feel like I had time for weight training. I had experienced some problems with my lower back after having kids, and then I started having hip pain. I was starting to feel old! Since my mother has osteoporosis, my doctor suggested a baseline bone density test when I turned 40. That test indicated that I was in the early stages of osteopenia, which means a loss of bone density. I was referred to Dr. Troy Van Biezen who began to help me in the rehab process. After a few weeks of ART and Chiropractic adjustments, he suggested I get some M.A.T. sessions and go through the AIM assessment.
I started training with Ryan and William about 18 months ago. I also had regular MAT treatments with Ryan. After training with them for about a year, it was time for another bone density test. The test showed a complete reversal of the first findings and the doctor also mentioned that I had grown 1 inch in that year. I had no signs of any problems. I know that weight training is the best preventive measure I can be taking.
Another area where I have seen improvement is my posture. Because of some alignment issues, my posture had been affected. And since it was gradual, I hadn't really even noticed. But I DID notice that every program Ryan and William wrote for me had a huge emphasis on strengthening my upper body and making sure with EVERY exercise that my hips and trunk were aligned, and my shoulders were squeezing together. It was a beating, and I know that they felt like a broken record telling me to pull my shoulders back. But, it must be working because my husband has noticed and complimented my much-improved posture!
I appreciate that the programs at TELOS are tailor-made for each client. It works! With regular treatments, and consistent weight training sessions, I rarely experience any of the old aches and pains I had become accustomed to.
