About five years ago, I wandered into my first Pilates mat class. Having led a busy but essentially sedentary life, I had decided to join a gym and take better care of myself. A 30- minute “mini-mat” class caught my interest and although I had never heard of Pilates before, I decided to give it a try. “How hard could it be?” I thought.

Ten minutes later I was looking at the clock, completely out of breath, hoping it would be over soon! Although I barely made it through the class, it was a lot of fun, and I came back for more. In a very short period of time I gained a huge amount of strength and energy, and lost inches and weight. I began to train individually with Veronica and have been doing so ever since. She has helped me to build upon the basic principles that I was introduced to in that first class, and I can honestly say that I learn something new at every session. At Telos we are very fortunate to have a world-class Pilates training facility that hosts visitors from around the country and abroad. Our studio and trainers never fail to impress!

More than anything, being a member of Telos has helped me find a way to make fitness a routine part of life.  I have always struggled with motivation for exercise, and there is no doubt that without Telos, I would still be weak and lazy! From the Pilates instructors to the personal trainers on the floor, each of the staff is interested in working together to help me lead a healthy life.  I owe thanks to Robert Treece for introducing me to weight training and encouraging me to stay on the elliptical for longer than 10 minutes (I’m still working on that!)

Thanks, Telos!
