Jane GildayI have been a member at TELOS since its inception, and nearly all that time, I have worked out regularly with one Professional Trainer, Wes Cade. Initially my goal was to lose “those pesky 10 pounds” that are always hanging around. As I began to understand strength training better, I came to realize the total health benefits of regular workouts including holding off osteoporosis, better mental acuity, holding down cholesterol etc. All of the above are important, but it was with the arrival of Muscle Activation Techniques (M.A.T.) that TELOS and Wes became invaluable.
One of my passions is riding and showing my horses over fences. It comes with the territory, but about 4 years ago I took a bad spill. For months I had difficulty walking properly, my neck was in agony and I was in total misery. I tried a chiropractor and deep massage therapy, but nothing really worked. Wes kept telling me to try M.A.T. but it sounded sort of voodoo to me. Finally, I was so uncomfortable I said “OK, I’ll try anything.” By then my muscle structure was pretty messed up, but I could tell after just the first session that M.A.T. would work. Eventually I was able to get back on my horse. (Wes would like it best if I stopped jumping horses so he would not have to put me back together all the time.) My attitude is that M.A.T keeps me in the saddle, having a great time.
