Well, let’s see.  The simple reason I came to TELOS is because I wanted to lose weight.   I had three herniated discs in my low back that kept me from being able to exercise, (or even walk that well.)  I was on three cortical steroid shots into my spine per year, (the max the doctors would allow), and I would lose a few pounds, then my back would go out and I would have to stop everything for a month or so.  Of course, during this time I’d gain all the weight back that I’d lost.  I also gained about 10 pounds a year due to the steroids and the fear of hurting my back when exercising.

I called TELOS and Everett spent a great deal of time explaining to me that my real problem was not my weight, but my back.  He FINALLY convinced me that if we could get that working properly, the weight would take care of itself.  So, I started working with Everett, Matt and William.   Everett’s the one who put together my routine and makes sure my spine is doing what it should.  Matt is the guy who jams his elbows into me doing the M.A.T. training & fixes me when I’m broken; and William is the guy who kicks my butt in the gym.  And, of course, Clarissa handles every question and concern I ever have immediately.  And she never forgets to follow up. 

So here it is…four months after I started, and I live almost pain-free.  When my back does occasionally go out, Matt can put me back together again in one or two sessions, and I’m only out for a day or two, instead of a few weeks.   And, who’d have believed it, just like Everett said I would, I’ve lost 20 pounds so far. 

I’ve always hated gyms.  Every one I’d ever visited was all about looking good.  Here, the focus is all about FEELING great.  What’s interesting is that when that happens, the looks take care of themselves.  The weight sort of falls off, and the body starts looking leaner, stronger & more powerful.   This place was a God-send for me.  I don’t know what I would have done without it…or Everett.
