I needed a friendly environment…My husband, Eric, and I left TELOS during the transition from North Dallas Athletic Club to TELOS. At that time Eric was a devoted basketball player and wanted to continue playing so we left and joined LifeTime Fitness. Little did I know how much I would miss a "smaller" gym.
While at the other club, I attended some classes, but mostly utilized the free weight and cardio areas. I soon began to realize that unless I hoarded the weights I was using I often would be unable to effectively get my workout done. This lead to frustration, not to mention an eventual loss of enthusiasm to get to the gym. One of the things I really like about your weight room is that I have never had to wait around to use a piece of equipment because I always have the option of going downstairs to the extra machines and weights. The gym never feels overcrowded and it's a very user-friendly workout environment.
I really enjoy getting to know the trainers and staff. Everyone is so friendly and professional; always eager to answer questions and offer advice and tips on how to get the most from my workouts. Not once has anyone ever made me feel awkward because of the way I may try to use a piece of equipment - in other words the trainers have been very good about giving me pointers and correcting my bad habits! I really appreciate their input. I love the fact that there is always a trainer working on the floor, dedicating his/her time to all of us with questions, that kind of service is invaluable.
Believe me, there are plenty of days when I get out of bed and dread dragging my tired bones to the gym, but knowing that I'll see some familiar faces and friendly smiles makes me feel good about showing up every day that I am able. I also believe that seeing some of those faces each day helps me stay accountable to myself and my goals.
